Welcome to AiX warrenjonuk, thanks for the images; especially nice to see Twin Pioneer in action although I am more familiar with the single.
Are the rest of the pictures available to be viewed on a host web site?
Dear All
I attach some photos which I believe are of RAF Mamfe , please correct me if I'm wrong.
They were taken by Flt Lt John Buckley (often known as Jack) who I think was equipment officer for 230 squadron, agin collect me if I'm wrong.
The photos are all from John's extensive archive of which came to me after his death in 2009.
Plenty more pictures to upload if anyone is interested.
Jon

Jon,
I was at Mamfe when these pictures were taken and I am somewhere in the crowd. any chance of getting some copies?
Regards Leo ( Dellco )
Excellent pictures - more please?
Agreed, they are brilliant photos.
I was at Mamfe during the 230 Sqdn. Detachment and arrived there with the aircraft and finished when the detachment ended. I was an aircraft electrical mechanic then and my secondary duty was to run the camp power station.I would really appreciate it if I could obtain copies of any existing photos of Mamfe. When the political situation was resolved and we were told we were going home to UK, I can remember waiting by the HF radio shack, to hear if the RAF Transport Command aircraft had left the UK to come and pick us up, unfortunately what we heard was that all flights were cancelled due to the Kuwait trouble and we should make our way back to the UK as best we could.
I got back to England by Land Rover from Mamfe to Buea then a DC 3 to Kano via Bennin City and Calabar. I got a seat on a Nigerian Airways DC6 to Stansted .
It was a very interesting 9 months
Cheers Dellco
Dear All
Thanks for the positive response , I am in the process of scanning the rest of John's slides and when I have some more of Mamfe I will certainly post them
Cheers
Jon
Dear All
Please see attached some more photos of Mamfe. As I have mentioned they were taken by Flt Lt John Buckley who passed away at the end of 2009.
John's archive also includes pictures of his time in Berlin (Gatow) during the Air Bridge and his time in Aden in the 50's
If anyone would like copies just drop me a message.
