    Can't answer your question at the moment. However, in a couple of weeks time, I will be meeting someone who was here in the late 40s. Hopefully I will be able to help after that meeting.

    Have been scanning slides from my collection for a while now and came across the two below.

    These show a formation of 6 Javs from 60 Sqn and six Sabres of the RAAF overflying Butterworth on 12 Aug 66, the day after Confrontation officially ended.

    Prior to flying over Butterworth, the formation had overflown HMS Victorious which was in the northern Straits of Malacca.

    That must have been some sight and sound. the Javelin is a wonderful aircraft, shame there is notmany left around now.
