Thank You PB for that insight.
Although mine is based on B Newton, this model will have the appearance of Concrete as its going as a backdrop to a diorama BoB period

A bit of progress in that i have furnished the 'front room' of the bottom section of the tower . . .
Also added the glazing to the 'fort' which i shall also be furnishing with a desk or two and the airman on duty, answering a call from Group . . .

Hi
I thought I'd post this picture here as it's not something you would ever see in the real world.
A standard 207/36 watch Office with Tower stood next to a 207/36 with the added control room 4698/43 (this one based on 1960's West Raynham) this modification was done at a number of airfields including Leconfield, Hemswell, Driffield and Cranfield (brick 1959/34) and I think it makes quite an interesting picture.

Nice work Stevo, don't forget the other variation at Bassingbourn:

Here we go...is there a drawing number for this or is it the same 4698/43?

Very nice Stevo what did you use to do the modelling?
the only drawing number i have for Bassingbourne is 207/36.
Here are a couple of Brick ones
Bircham Newton (Brick), now demolished
Cosfored (Brick), still in use for ATC
Bicester

The Bassingbourn watch ofiice is interesting to me, I have seen drawings of the planned modification to St Athans' original 'Fort' type tower and if they went ahead it would have looked like the Bassingbourn example. In the end the 'split-vertical' was built and the 'Fort' demolished.
