Well yes and no!!!! Churchill apparently contacted Roosevelt for a meeting but Roosevelt said he was busy dealing with the Japanese, of course when Hitler declared war on the USA on the 11th of December that changed things!

And Im suprised someone hasnt mentioned that there was confusion on the part of the Japanese over the date of the attack, of course it took place on the 8th of December in their time. And lets not forget that the Japanese embassy were late in giving the American government their declaration of war, it should have happened bfeore the attack.
