Does anyone know if this memorial has been dedicated yet? I gather a date in August was being aimed for but I don't know if it happened.
Cheers
Forum member Pimpernel has forwarded me the link below;
Page 30 has some information on the memorial project.

The memorial will be at Great Hormead, Hertfordshire and it is hoped it will be dedicated by summer 2010.

Short answer is no...it hasn't. With all my commitments with Bassingbourn this year, the memorial 'unveiling' was a casualty. However, the memorial is up and we shall shortly be adding granite edging to make it a little easier to maintain and (hopefully) a little more tidy.
If anybody wants to visit the memorial, then find the road between Anstey and Great Hormead and the memorial is next to the road, on the west side just as you get to the hill leading down into Hormead. If you try and find 'Anderson's Lane' from Hormead, it's opposite the Three Tuns pub.
I'll be happy to meet you there (given a little notice) and can show you the crash site too (it's a short walk).
Dedication ceremony hopefully will be next year (2011) and USAF hopefully will be attendance. It's a tiny lane though, so service will be a small-ish affair.
The proposed museum at Nuthampstead will carry a small display to Archie Daniels.

Thanks for the info and for posting the photo Russ, looks like a nice memorial and I will stop by when I am passing next.
Hi Shabbyabby, A very nice memorial, I hope to be at the dedication of this next year. Many thanks for showing it.
A few photographs that I took of this memorial last sunday morning whilst on my way to Bottisham Museum 17-10-2010.
