    Default Memorial to Crew of C47 Lilly Bell II - Worplesdon

    At the begining of October a memorial was unveiled to the crew of C47 42-100766 Lilly Bell II



    It is located at the Jucntion of Clay Lane & Queenhythe Road in Jacobs Well

    I took these yesterday afternoon. Within a minute or so of me stopping by this memorial a chap from the house opposite came-out and started fiddling around in the boot of his car, then another neighbour came out and slowly walked past... Don't think it was my imagination? just the locals keeping a good eye on ''their'' village memorial. Very pleasing ! Many thanks to VC10 for first showing this plaque.

    Lilly Bell II was the subject of a Corgi Aviation Archive Die Cast Model
    If I had read this more carefully I would have found the memorial more quickly. It is in Jacobs Well which is some distance from Worplesdon. For others the approximate post Code in GU4 7NY and map ref 997 533.
