I'm new but not to Harwell as I work at Rutherford labs in the Diamond Project. I Have been going round taking photos and will load them on Flickr in the near future but to give a taster here are the pillboxes around the site. http://www.flickr.com/photos/spuduka...7621775782408/
You now know that the round pillbox, now in the school grounds, defended the east end of the Bomb Store.
Which was right behind it. It was cleared before I started working on the site. Nothing left of the Bomb site now. BTW I have just started uploading to FLickr the ones I have taken. http://www.flickr.com/photos/spuduka...7627733088850/

I been updating the Harwell photo's and now have added some of the old RAF buildings.
Thanks spuduka still quite a lot to be found I see. The airfield dispersals were 'frying pan' types and some quite distant from the centre of the airfield located on long spurs running south and southeast.
I've now uploaded 63 photo's taken from round the old RAF site at Harwell. I do still have to go back and get some more but will do this in due course. I have had a walk around in my lunch time to check out which were the A & B mess halls plus the sergeants Mess. I have also located the old barrack block so will photograph them all next time. Across the road from the main gate in a copse is a building which looks like a pumping house and can be seen on Flickr in the dereliction set I have.
.....and behind the pumphouse a pillbox (pretty sure it's in the DoB)
There are also photo's of the pillboxes in my flickr sets.
