Added the Polish Army in Exile ww2 sites (Chipperfield x2, Kings Langley, London, Larbert and Polmont).
Added Bletchley's bombe sites at Eastcotes, Wavendon , Gayhurst and Adstock.

Updated (and more importantly corrected the misconception) as to the location of the Bondex Knitting Factory and Bondex Cleaning Works (both Station 7 wireless construction units locations).

Currently trying unravel Stanmore Park, so far identified OSS, Polish Army in Exile, and MI6... more to come though for sure.

Some sites are though remaining elusive, I have a few reports for the below locations but they are all a dead end so far:
SOE/SCU Ruislip cigarette works SOE/SCU Wireless Section Production facility based in the Ruislip cigarette factory, used in conjunction with the Bondex Cleaning Works and the Bondex Knitting factory at Wembley. Staff for these sections were relocated from SOE Station9, The Frythe.

SOE STS 37a location unknown, training school for advanced photography, I have a suspicion it was located in central London and was used in association with SOE Station 15, The Thatched Barn or one of the missing sites at Beaulieu (my pile of documents to go through). NOW FOUND 11/05/2012

SOE STS47 location unknown, some references to being a mine training facility but nothing concrete.

If anybody can elaborate on any of the above please contact me.

List is now at 175 sites

    oooo make that 176,

Had a brainwave and just uncovered Rhinefield House as another of the Beaulieu 11 finishing schools....
also as a follow on to above STS37a could well be the 'Warren' on the Beaulieu Estate.

    Hi Jenna
I wonder if you have any info on Raby Hall in the Wirral (formerly Cheshire)? It's in map square SJ3380 and is now a residential care home for people with learning difficulties. I have been told that it was used by SOE and that there was an airstrip occasionally visited by Lysanders and other light aircraft. That is about all I have learned about it.

    Some photos here: http://www.oldwirral.com/raby_hall.html

Hello Dave, I have had quick look back through my notes and I find nothing for Raby, Raby Mere or Raby Hall. I will keep an eye open though if it comes up in the future for you for sure.

The only thought I have at the minute about the area is that Clatterbridge is not very far away, it was well established in WWII so I may be worth a hunt through its history to bring up local clues.

Thanks, Jenna. Would most appreciate a note if you come across any details. I'm familiar with Clatterbridge; one of my sons was born there! The US Army's 157th General Hospital was established there in 1944, using part of the extensive hospital grounds. Known as "The Huts", the buildings were still in use until quite recently. They have all been cleared now.

Clatterbridge as a site goes way back, it was originally the Wirral Union workhouse built in 1836 (more information in the Cheshire Archives and Local Studies archive)... the site popped up on my radar as it was treating WW2 wounded and partially staffed with a FANY unit (which supplied the majority of specialist female staff including agents too SOE).

I have also checked back through my documents to see if the area was connected to any SOE members rather than a specific building and only one thing comes up.

Operation Musketoon was a joint services Op between the army and SOE under the control of no'2 Commando in 1942 with aim of destroying the Glomfjord hydro plant. One Commando member was Captain Joseph Houghton MC who was born in Bromborough.

Fascinating. Raby Hall is very close to Bromborough and quite a long way from Raby village. I imagine any connection with Capt Houghton is coincidental, unless he suggested the hall to SOE!

I have managed to add a few more locations related to SIS, MI6 and the Foreign Office(FO). Total is now just under 200 confirmed locations with around 60 more not listed that require more research to locate (verify as much as possible).

After a little head scratching as to to how to use the google map and related research I have decided that it is to be transferred over to a new website titled Churchill's 'Clandestine Army' & SOE Files, shortened to 'Clandestine Army' for the website title. Although not entirely sure on the format yet it will be an open research resource for SOE and related information.
