I'd never heard of this place until I went to Culham Park (next door it seems) to fly in my nephews balloon as part of the Jubilee celebrations. There was a beacon there that was ignited at about 22.30. The balloons were also glowing in the dark. We had entered from the main road and passed lots "Naval" type hangars on the way to the launch site.
Anyway here is an aerial shot that I took as we climbed away toward Didcot....

You're going to like this !

    From the CBs:

    In 1944 it had:
    1 Squadron - 87' 6" by 60' by 17'
    20 Storage - 87' 6" by 60' by 17'

    In 1945 it had:
    30 Pentad - 185' by 105' by 25'
    14 Fromson - 70' by 92' by 17'

I think this demonstrates why pinning down RNAS hangarage isn't easy.
