This is the memorial in Houthalen Cemetery to the four RAF aircraft lost over the area during the war.
The aircraft were:
1. Whitley Z6479;
2. Stirling BF448;
3. Wellington HF457;
4. Halifax LK842.
My great uncle was lost on Wellington HF457.

I am intrigued as why all but one of the names mentioned appear to have their initials reversed. Is this a Dutch/Belgian/Flemish thing? I would love to know why this is.
