Some more shots, taken in August 85. Note the absence of the traverses and no trees.
And a couple of details, from October 1979:
I have a few shots of the Thor shed taken in the days before colour film!
First, a shot taken in May 70:
Second, a couple of shots taken in Oct 79, with the traverses still in place.

Excellent stuff WJT!
Lots of good detail of the AC ducting.
The three low-level intakes for the main Assembly & Checkout bay air purge system show up clearly, although the three matching extractors on the roof are gone.
That stencilling has been seen elsewhere, inside the Classified Storage Buildings. (Harrington for example)
As the main end doors are too small to put a trailered Thor through (10'x10' openings it would appear), I'm presuming the S&I Buildings were intended for warhead maintainance.
That would certainly explain the planned (but seemingly never built) extension to the one at Feltwell in late 1960 to add a "Mating Bay", classroom and another office alongside the lower rooms.
The wriggly-tin porchways are interesting too, although they pretty much defeat the object of putting the floodlight on the wall above them...

Has anyone have a good up to date picture of hemswell roughly taken in the same place as was filmed on night bombers (where the lancasters are taxing in front of the hangers to the runway). I think this shot in the film was taken from atop of the end hanger.
