    Hi Ref.

Thank you for putting this up, another one for the Battle of Britain Historical Society, in the last few weeks we have had one in Yorkshire, one in Kent, and now this one in Lancashire. One minor point, the school is Aysgarth School, I was born a few miles from there.

    Robin.

Confused on this one. There is a Newton Le Willows near Bedale in North Yorkshire. Aysgarth School sits just outside the village. The fact that there is a "Dundas" on the plaque adds to the confusion. The Dundas family have occupied Aske Hall just outside Richmond North Yorks for a considerable number of years.

Are you sure it is in Lancashire Robin?

    Hi Paf1950.

Humble apologies, I had a 'Senior' moment, and the memory failed me. In the late 50s, I lived in Lancashire, a couple of miles from Newton le Willows, and at weekends I would cycle through there on my way to do some 'spotting' at Burtonwood, I was certain that a small village I went through was called Aysgarth, obviously, I was wrong, Sorry.

    Robin.

Don't worry Robin. There is a queue for those senior moments, and I have been at the head of it for quite some time.
