Saturday I spent a pleasant afternoon with my new camera (its one of those complicated types, I will need time to understand even the AUTO mode) and covered five airfields but passed by eight.

Upavon another hard one to photograph, they too are very strict on security, they really do NOT want photos of a 1930's hangars to get out to our enemies??

I was talking to a friend yesterday and he thinks that the hangars at RAF Upavon are going to be demolished!!!!!

Has anybody more information on this?

Just read a post on the PPRUNE Nostalgia Forum that Upavon's hangars have all been vacated and are to be demolished "when funds become available."

I tried to take some photos and the security said the site was secure and no photos to be taken!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!god I love security.

What do they need "funds" for for demolition of hangars? Surely the Royal Engineers would be able to demolish them fairly easily?
