Hello, can anyone help me. I am researching a book on the above airfields covering the fifties and would like to make contact with anyone posted there doing their National Service.

I am particularly interested in any none flying activities such as RESEARCH etc that might have been conducted at Weston Zoyland. Were there any such projects that involved the Fleet Air Arm, the Americans and RAF.

I have been informed of something called ORANGE but haven't a clue what it was about. Can anyone help.

i had noticed the other day that the buildings were cleared of brambles i just asumed it was because it was winter, if i took some photo next time there would you be able to identify them i cant from the map i just looked at.
a musuem there would be great keep up the good work.

Does anyone have an idea what this building is & what it was used for.
It is located behind the USAAF accommodation site in a field by itself.
I would guess at some kind of pumping house, but I am not sure.

Thants a really interesting looking building John, it looks like some sort of Latrine block but I have no idea what the rest of it is. Do you have any internal photos at all?

I just looked at the size and noted the roof, and thought latrine!! Ok, without windows I admit a visit to specksavers maybe on the cards now!!! I'd say more a pumphouse as well but its difficult to say. Do you have a location link for it John?

The single pitched roof does seem to have been used for smaller buildings, I have seen pump houses with them, so may be swayed by that, have seen latrines with them (but with windows!) as well though.
Looks like there are fittings in the taller side wall?
