Kilkenneth was not open as a CH for very long then became a GEE site - I suspect they used the existing CH buildings and mast / towers as some antenna can be seen on the postwar aerial images.
Tiree is great for radar there is ACH (a few traces visible), CHB (all bases etc there), CHL (buildings and mast bases there), ROTOR (most there).
I have been trying to work out what it is at Ben Hough CHL. The site is on a hill with access up a footpath. Building there with the base of the tower and some hut bases; (standby?) engine house at bottom of the hill.
There is another path continuing to the top of the hill and another building there. Not been able to work out what this building is. Not a standard type of radar building, big windows which are reminiscent of Admiralty buildings to me. No tower base just perhaps a small mast near the building. One big room inside with another smaller one which could be a latrine or signals room - it has a porthole facing towards the main room. It is a bout half way down these images with the first image marked "Ben Hough UPPER". I think that folder has the CH and CHL. ACH, CHB, ROTOR, DF are in another folder.
I put a comment in another thread there is another mystery site on Tiree that initially was thought to be associated with the ROTOR site but I was told that it was built around the time the rocket range was being put on the Western Isles and was associated with that. Seems to be a comms site rather than radar but was abandoned before completion and just given to the builder.
Also a nice RN DF site on the island.
The RCAHMS entries for the CH and CHL are a bit of a mess, keep saying I will try and get them corrected.
There are plans for a very large collection of eagle slicers off Tiree and the shore part might be built near the CH site.
