One of TheMadscanners GE airfield placemarks puts it here http://wtp2.appspot.com/wheresthepat...z=14&oz=8>=1
I note on Pauls list of RAFM Site plans, it lists Waltham St Lawrence to drg no. 7137/52. Can anyone tell me where the airfield was? Exact location if possible!
Thanks
Richard

X1WA Waltham St Lawrence N 51 29 W 000 48 RAF. RLG Agriculture Satellite for White Waltham. Returned to farmland.
I've had a good look around using the old maps site & found nothing, there are very few fields big enough.
I'm going to White Waltham airfield tomorrow so will ask there.
I called at Waltham St Lawrence today and took the above photographs. I was directed to this field by a well-spoken local lady of senior years. From the village war memorial junction I was told to go along Plough lane and over a small hump-bridge, then turn right along West end lane..keep going til I found some 'New-built' houses on my left. Almost opposite these is a long-ish stretch of concrete leading to a large field, this, she told me is where they were told some aircraft may land occasionly. Just hope that this lady was correct about this, also that I found the same field as described... If all this proves to be wrong then please delete the above.
