WW1 ground targets

Hi all,

I have read newspaper articles of the time about planes from Yatesbury practicing firing at ground targets. Does anyone know what WW1 ground targets looked like? - This is not the deflector range but something else...any ideas?

Good question. Although WW1 is outside my period of interest it would be useful to know to put later methods into context. I haven't found anything on WW1 firing and bombing practice in dedicated files at TNA so the information must be is related files.

As a likely area Freiston springs to mind. Maybe someone has looked into its history?
