Just a reminder that the dedication of the new hide in memory of the Blenheim pilot takes place this Sunday , 6 May . The reserve is open from 13:00 hrs with the dedication at 15:00 hrs . See here for the latest details ;

Although the pilot Angus McBean was an only child thanks to press coverage up here in the north east his cousins step daughter and another relative hope to attend the event to represent his family and take along photographs of Angus in his younger years . Fittingly it also appears that in his youth he was a bird watcher so quite an appropriate link to the dedication of the hide .

These photos were taken by Liz Everingham and sent to me by David Thompson to be put on the forum. The lady cutting the tape is the pilots step cousins daughter as F/S Angus McBean was an only child.
