Welcome to the forum Morag. Transport of supplies is a subject that is not often covered. Hopefully you have prompted some interest.
Hello ALL
I am a proud daughter of a late ex RAF LAC who served with the 2nd TAF 2 Group No. 314 Supply and Transport Column.
If I can be of assistance to anyone, I have a copy of this unit "Royal Air Force Operations Record Book" from D Day+1 to April 1946 from the Royal Archives in Kew. It is a daily diary of this transport unit in France, Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany. I would be happy to look up info for others.
Cheers!
Morag

Welcome to AiX Morag and thanks for the offer to share information. Logistics support was a key element in the planning of the invasion of Europe resulting in the counties of central and SE England housing massive stockpiles of fuel, ammunition, food and supplies. AiX has threads covering many related military aspects other than pure airfields so perhaps one of our members will start a new thread.
