Now that's something new! I await the answer with bated breath.
From the Bones Aviation Webpage:
Location link:An enigma. Evidence of a 2500ft concrete/tarmac runway but nothing else. Only the concrete end sections remain.

There looks to be some type of hangar and apron to the west of the site.
Does anyone have any more info on this place?

We're in rich businessmen/footballer territory and the story of the chap, wife, footballers etc is the fodder of tabloids
It was built around 1986 by the well off chap at Dawfields farm so he could play with his toys more easily than driving to Ringway to get them. The centre section was never concreted but is made of compacted stone with grass covering. Planning permission wasn't sought before-hand and locals/council weren't very happy (he was allowed to keep the threshold concrete sections however). Not sure if it was ever actually used by either of his fixed wing aircraft but will ask a couple of more local friends.
His 'toys' must be something larger than ultralites. With no planning permission, how did that sit with the CAA?
IIRC a couple of Citations and a couple of egg-beaters. Chap isn't there now and when he sold it the land was split up a bit so the strip now falls under two owners.
Vague memory of him bending one of the Citations abroad (maybe Indian sub-continent, where his family were from?).
