In 1953 a list was drawn up of possible Gee-H ranges around the UK coast. These would have been 7,000yds from the coast and included places like :-
St Abbs Head
Holy Island
Hinderwell
Cowden
Theddlethorpe
Buxey
Lundy
Watchet
I don't know yet if any of these went ahead or not.
Would there have been a physical target and would practice bombs have been dropped or was it merely a recording exercise?
This differs from the radar targets which are actively seeked out and bombed.
