Its a few days off the hundredth anniversary of the first RFC fatal crash so I sought out the grave of Staff Sgt Wilson in Andover Parish church yard. It is obvious that originally the memorial had a full propellor, but somehow I feel the current broken propellor is more fitting.
I understand that the last army unit with flying links at Larkhill (the Royal Engineer Regiment flying UAV) are organising a memorial service on the 5th.
Staff Sgt Wilson is also commemorated on this more famous memorial close to Stonehenge.Airman's cross.jpg
