Today I have had confirmation of locating Dennis Randles (Wireless Operator) son who had changed his surname to 'Day.' So that is three found so far. Things are ongoing and various generated leads are being followed up.

FAO: Di - the website that 'Camerons' details are showing doesn't seem to be able to provide me with a contact of whoever put the pictures on there. They just keep giving me other places to start looking. But I'm pursueing this by phone as well now so fingers crossed.

I'm hoping the Canadian newspapers who I've contatced and the Manitoba museum might generate something.

Thanks to all who've forwarded information and ideas. I'll update again when more comes in - hopefully.

That's frustrating, so they can't even pass a message on for you leaving the onus on them to contact you? Not as efficient as AIX then : )
But to get three so quickly is really excellent, and as you say you have phone calls to make so you may get the fourth, pretty good going!

Just a bit of an update. Through contacting Canadian newspapers I have in turn been contacted by someone who has given me some very good ideas of where to search regarding our three RCAF Airmen. Nothing to report yet but fingers crossed.

'Kebecker' - sir you are a gent. Thank you.

I've also just been contacted by a relative of Dennis Randle who has given me a much greater insight to the whole crew who turned up at their house one Christmas for dinner.

So we have messages out for 'Gunn,' McPherson and 'Cameron,' but the trail seems to have gone cold on James Mayger, the Flight Engineer from Glasgow.

Don't know why that I only saw this thread for the first time last night it's all very interesting ! May I wish you the very best with your research STAN11, and congratulate you on your success so far, and determination to see this through. Pleased to hear that permission has been obtained for a memorial to be dedicated near to the tragic crash site. Best wishes. Paul.

Great photos Stan11, just a thought, is it worth you putting a message on this forum looking for Mayger? There is a chance someone may remember the family

We've found a relative of Francis Gunn the Navigator. Sadly all close relatives are now deceased and the one we've spoken to is not interested in the memorial, but then not everyone is going to be receptive.

We will continue on a bit longer to find someone else who may show interest.

Today we have had contact from a relative of James Mayger the Flight Engineer from Glasgow.
We have now found our fourth British airman.
