    Would this be the location? This is from 1972 and roughly SY623805 at Sea Barn Farm.
    It was an AA battery in the war but at some point gained an arrow, probably for a realigned Chesil range. I don't know much about postwar ranges (yet) so I can't say when it was added.
    It may aslo have been known as "Fleet" or "The Fleet".

    Sorry I must be thinking of somewhere else as the building I saw was near the coast.

    Tip of arrow - distance to northern shore of the Fleet ...500yds.
    Distance to seaward side of Chesil bank....870 yds

    A further eMail from my contributor has the following info......

    The control tower was still there at N50 37 21 ---W02 31 58 two years ago.
    The large concrete patch shown N of the tower at N50 37 22 --- W02 31 59 is where the mobile Radar Unit was initially located[1958].
    This was then relocated to a concrete base on Chesil Beach at Burton Road, Abbotsbury at approx N50 39 42 ---W 02 37 49.
